keto chili recipe

This meat dish is very popular in the USA. A real gift for those who follow a low-carb diet. Here, both the first and the second are two in one, and you yourself can adjust the consistency at your discretion. A very satisfying, aromatic, and tasty dish, meat-eaters will appreciate it. Cooking is a pleasure. Try it and see for yourself!

Is chili keto-friendly?

Unless you are from the USA and already eat chili without beans, most traditional chili recipes aren’t keto-friendly owing to the high carb content of beans. However, like with many recipes, it may be modified to produce a mouthwateringly delicious low-carb chili. Because this keto chili recipe does not contain beans, it is an ideal dish for me and my family to enjoy on Saturdays while watching my husband's favorite team, the Ohio State Buckeyes, play football.

Can you eat tomatoes on the keto diet?

Despite the fact that tomatoes contain natural sugar, they are low in carbohydrates and high in fiber. On a low-carb diet, they can be consumed in moderation. Keep in mind that the carbohydrates in the tomatoes in this dish are spread out across a large number of portions.

In this recipe, I used A can of sliced tomatoes with green chilis (or Rotel). If you don't like pieces of tomatoes, you may mix a can of whole tomatoes in a blender or use crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce instead.

What is the best way to store chili?

I like to prepare twice as much as the recipe asks for so that I may have a quick dinner the next day. In an airtight container, chili should last three to four days in the fridge. Cooked chili can also be frozen for up to six months in freezer-safe containers or heavy-duty freezer bags. If you freeze the chili in individual containers, you can drag one out whenever you want a wonderful bowl of homemade keto chili.

Topping ideas for keto chili:

Beef Keto Chili with Jalapenos Recipe

This filling keto chili dish is very delicious and easy to make.

Prep Time: 20 min             Cook Time: 30 mins

Total Time: 50 mins           Servings: 8 serving

Ingredients

  • Beef (Ground beef. You can use finely diced beef, about 1 cm each) - 1 kg
  • Onions - 250 g
  • Bulgarian pepper (Actually, not Bulgarian. The original recipe uses Jalapeno - Mexican green pepper, but it is not on the ingredients menu.) - 200 g
  • Vegetable oil (you need avocado oil. But if it is not there, you can replace it with olive or any other vegetable oil.) - 2 tbsp. l.
  • Garlic - 6 tooth
  • Broth (beef bones. You can adjust the consistency at your discretion.) - 2 stacks.
  • Tomatoes in their own juice (A can of sliced   tomatoes. You can use fresh tomatoes with the addition of tomato paste.) - 300 g
  • Chili pepper (Required ingredient. But this is not chili, but the spice is chili powder.) - 1 tsp.
  • Spices (your favorite spices to taste. I have the thyme. You can use cumin or any other spicy spices.) - 1 tsp.
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Sour cream (for serving - an optional ingredient.) - 6 tbsp. l.
  • Greens - 1 bunch.

Instructions

  1. Lightly sauté onion, cut into not very small cubes in a frying pan. Then add the jalapenos and pass a little more. Add the garlic at the end. Salt and pepper to taste, mix.
  2. Put the minced meat or diced meat in a pan (about 1 cm each). Stir until smooth, cover with a lid and leave for a while over medium heat. Mix again. When all the meat changes its color, remove it from heat and set it aside.
  3. Meanwhile, pour a small amount of broth into the bottom of the pan and add spices to it. Stir until pasty. Then add the rest of the broth and mix thoroughly again. You can set the amount of broth as you like. if you want soup, then pour at least 300 ml. broth, if you want a second course, then 150-200 ml. will be enough.
  4. Add minced meat to a saucepan with broth, then a jar of tomatoes in slices (or fresh). Mix thoroughly until smooth.
  5. If you have a pressure cooker, that's a plus. If not, then just cover it tightly and leave it on medium heat for about 30 minutes or until the meat is cooked.
  6. We put our hearty, aromatic dish on a plate, if desired, add sour cream or grated cheddar, herbs, and feast on. Bon Appetit!

Notes

If you don't have the listed ingredients on hand (such as jalapenos, avocado oil, or chili powder), don't be discouraged! They can be replaced with what is at hand. Of course, this will affect the taste to some extent, but the dish will please you anyway.

So, we can safely replace the jalapeno pepper with cayenne pepper or chili pepper, just do not overdo it - they are hot! I advise you to reduce the amount and of course remove the seeds from the pepper, unless you are a fan of super-hot.
