What will the Weight Watchers program's new plan be for November 2022? Even though the current Personal Points plan was just introduced a year ago, it looks like the corporation will switch to a new one in November of 2022. Will Weight Watchers be changing the Personal Points this year?

In fact, it is true! In the middle of November 2022, Weight Watchers will introduce a new program!

Why are Weight Watchers changing the Personal Points program?

Weight Watchers provides a new, revised food program or plan every two years. But, it’s only been one year since Weight Watchers released Personal Points, so why are they making changes sooner than normal?

What a wonderful question! Without rolling a whole new program, they often make a few little adjustments to the current one once a year. Many Weight Watchers members will be surprised by this decision to introduce a new food plan or program.

With that said, a large factor in the company's success is the way it continuously adapts and changes its diet plan in response to new study findings and member input.

What will the new Weight Watchers plan be?

  • Everyone will follow the same plan (unless you are diabetic)
  • The same zero-point foods will be available to members, including fruits, non-starchy vegetables, lean poultry and fish, eggs, tofu, non-fat cottage cheese, plain non-fat greek yogurt, beans, lentils, corn, and peas, as well as the newly added item of air-popped plain popcorn.
  • Daily point ranges will depend on a number of things like age, sex, height, and current weight.
  • A daily point allowance and a weekly point allowance will be given to members.
  • While members can still earn points for activities, there will be no more points given for drinking water or eating specific foods, like veggies.
  • There will be a plan for diabetic members, it will look similar to the regular plan with a focus on consuming fewer sugars and carbs.
  • The points will be calculated using the same algorithm.

What are the Zero Point Foods for the new WW Plan?

All members (except for those on the diabetic plan) will have the same zero point foods list, which will include:

  • Beans
  • Corn
  • Eggs
  • Fish
  • Fruit
  • Lean poultry
  • Lentils
  • Non-fat cottage cheese
  • Non-fat, plain Greek yogurt
  • Non-starchy vegetables
  • Peas
  • Popcorn (plain, air-popped)
  • Tempeh
  • Tofu

These foods are recommended by national and international guidelines (including the World Health Organization) as a part of a healthy pattern of eating.

That’s how Weight Watchers landed on Beans, Corn, Eggs, Fish, Fruit, Lean poultry, Lentils, Non-fat cottage cheese, Non-fat/plain Greek yogurt, Non-starchy vegetables, Peas, Popcorn (plain, air-popped), Tempeh, and Tofu.

Will the WW Personal Points Program End?

Yes, in December 2022 the present Personal Points program will come to an end.

According to what we've been told, current WW members will have the choice to either join the new plan or stay with Personal Points starting in the middle of November. The new plan will then be switched for all members starting in December.

After the change in mid-November, new members will automatically be enrolled in the new plan, and all members will be using the new plan by January 1st.
